The Associate Pastor will primarily focus on Family Ministry within our church. He will serve as a spiritual leader and shepherd, overseeing the development and implementation of programs, gatherings, and events that support families within the church. This full-time role is responsible for engaging children, youth, and parents in discipleship, equipping families to grow together in Christ. Key Responsibilities • Children & Youth o Oversee and give leadership the entire Sunday School for classes from Nursery through High School (which includes picking curriculum). o If needed, teach a Sunday School class. o Train and recruit new teachers for classrooms, when needed. o Continue to meet with teachers individually once a quarter, and all the teachers once a year for additional training. o Organize the schedule for nursery help during Sunday School hour. o Give leadership to the VBS lead team. o Oversee, train, schedule, and at times lead, the Children’s Church during worship services. o Teach Confirmation (when confirmation year). o Oversee and assist the youth leaders and youth ministry. o Assist, and if needed lead, youth events (retreats, lock-ins, etc.). • Parents & Family o Organize and lead all family events. o Communicate weekly with families through email and digital platforms, ensuring consistent engagement and support. o Help families connect with family ministry retreats and camps. o Provide pastoral care, counseling, and spiritual guidance to families, addressing their unique challenges and needs. o Oversee other family-based ministries (men’s, women’s, singles, etc.) o Assist the Senior Pastor with START Senior Fellowship. • Overall Church Leadership o Oversee and organize the safety and security of all family ministry environments, adhering to church policies and best practices. o Preach at Salem Reformed (2-3 times a year). o Other duties assigned by Senior Pastor.
